Day 2. Sunday, April 13.
Another boring day! Simon's Mum's Jackaroo had to go to the mechanic. We had to stay at Hay. Had lots of fun with Nicole and Lauren in the playground at the caravan park. After dinner it rained so hard that we all got wet.
Day 3. Monday, April 14.
Another boring day. All we did was drive. We stayed at a caravan park near Mildura with a swimming pool. Dad wouldn't let me go for a swim.
Day 4. Tuesday. April 15.
Today we arrived in South Australia and went to Victor Harbour.
We went shopping. I got a Neopet, and Phillip got a Superblade.
Nicole and Lauren and I played in the playground at the caravan park till I got so dizzy that I was sick.
Day 5. Wednesday, April 16.
This morning I got up to feed my Neopet. It had slept in. I had a shower. We left to go to Granite Island. We walked over the bridges and caught a horse drawn carriage back after that. I got to pat the horse. Dad bought me a pair of binoculars. We had a camel ride. I doubled with Lauren, while Nicole had her own camel. We had fish and chips for tea.
Day 6. Thursday, April 17.
Today we are going to Spear Creek. Lauren and Nicole's Dad navigated and got us lost in Adelaide. We stopped at a park for lunch. All the parents went to the winery and bought wine. We finally got to Spear Creek. I set up camp and went for a walk with my friends and found some bones.
Day 7. Friday, April 18.
We went walking in the Alligator Gorge. There were 249 steps to get back to the car. I was really exhausted. I raced ahead from mum and dad and walked with Lauren and Nicole. Back at camp my friends and I set up a display of all the bones we found.
Day 8 Saturday, April 19.
Today we went 4WDing in the Flinders. All we did was drive up and down hills and rocks. Lauren and Nicole went on a different trip to us. Mum and Dad kept taking lots of photos. The batteries in the game boy ran out. When I got back I had a shower and played with my friends. That night we had a bush dance and toasted marshmallows over the fire.
Day 9 Sunday, April 20.
This morning I had 2 Easter egg hunts. I found lots and lots of eggs. My brother was lazy and did not get out of bed until it was all over. Bad luck Phillip. It was a really boring day. My friends went on a train ride, while we stayed behind. Tonight we had a big party and I got dressed up as a cowgirl. Dad got drunk.
Day 10. Monday, April 21.
LEAVING MY FRIENDS
I am very sad today. Today I left my friends and set off. All we did was drive all day. Mum and Dad took lots of pictures of rocks! We had lunch in a pub that serves Emu, Kangaroo and Camel, (yuk). I had schnitzel. We got to our camp very late. It was dark and we nearly could not find anywhere to stop. Some people who were there showed us where to go. Lucky, because my Mum was going to kill my Dad.
Day 11. Tuesday, April 22.
Today I took a little trip through Arkaroola. There were lots of interesting rocks and crystals. On the way there we saw some horses. When we got back I went for a walk along the mountain and collected some quartz and washed it. When I got back someone took a chair with my Dad's clothes on them while he was having a shower. I don't know who did it but it was very funny. After that I went back to looking for more quartz. At night Dad cooked a roast in the campfire. An aborigine man came to talk to us and gave us a new name "Jackamutna", which means Jackaroo people.
Day 12 Wednesday, April 23.
LEAVING THE WHOLE GROUP.
Today I left the Holden Jackaroo Club and set off to find a campsite. We found one next to a lake. Dad wanted to stay at Arkaroola, but Mum and Phillip and I outvoted him. We all want to go home. Dad just wants to keep driving over rocks and dirt. We left with Nicolette, Alex and Julie, Paul Jennifer and Craig. They are going to Cameron Corner but we are going to Innamincka. Mum says it is in the middle of nowhere. The road was very bumpy and boring. We said goodbye to everyone and now we are on our own. I miss my dogs Eddy and Chin-Chin and want to go home. Tonight we had dinner at the Innamincka pub, because there were too many flies where we are camped. We had a shower in a water tank across the road from the pub.
Day 13 Thursday April 24.
I had pancakes for breakfast. We went from Innamincka to Queensland to the dig tree and back to South Australia. We walked 300m to Burkes grave. When we got there we had a look nand walked all the way back got in the car and went back to camp to have lunch. There were too many flies. Phillip and I stayed in the car and played our gameboys. We had to eat dinner through our fly nets. Later I sat down with my dad and had a talk.
Day 14 Friday April 25.
We went to Cameron Corner today. Mum kept telling dad that we must be on the wrong road and that we were lost. Dad kept driving and we made it to Cameron Corner. My brother and I pulled faces when dad tried to take a photo of us in different states. We then went to Tibooburra and went and set up camp at a dusty, dusty place. We just sat around until dinner and then went to bed.
Day 15 Saturday April 26.
Dad nearly got bogged. We were going to White cliffs to stay in the underground motel, but it was raining. The car got very muddy. We had to go to Broken Hill instead. We had excellent hot dogs for lunch at Packsaddle. We had Pizza Hut for dinner at Broken Hill.
Day 16. Sunday April 27.
Today we went to some art galleries and I got a small bottle of gold flakes and a metal horse doll. We went to a famous artist's house. His name is Pro Hart. I visited an artist called Eric McCormick's Broken Hill art Gallery. We had lunch at Hungry Jacks and met people for the Jackaroo Club. We had ice cream at the Silverton hotel. We had dinner at the caravan park.
Day 17. Monday April 28.
Today was very boring we drove all day to Dubbo and stayed in a caravan park. We travelled from Broken Hill to Willcania, Cobar, Nyngan, Trangie, Narromine and then stayed at the Big 4 caravan park near the Western Plains Zoo.
Day 18. Tuesday April 29.
Today I travelled from Dubbo to Young. We went to visit my Nona and Nono's farm and stay for the night and left the next day. It was good to play with the dogs and ride on the motorbike. My brother and I went for a walk to the dam and then Nono's dog Jack tried to round up the sheep. Jack tried to kill a lamb when we got to the other side of the paddock and the flock left right down to the other end and left a poor little lamb behind. We hurried back to the farmhouse when I heard my Mum yelling at me and my brother.
Day 19. Wednesday, April 30.
Today I got up had breakfast and hurried outside and played with Jack and Jaquelina. I went over to the garden and picked some vegies and watermelon and rockmelon that we took home.
HOME.
Finally I get to see Eddy & Chin-Chin. I miss them so much. As soon as the car stopped I got out side, sat down and patted them and they jumped on me.
