Annual Tri-State Club Campout

"Where the Country Meets the City".

A joint event involving the Jackaroo and Holden Four Wheel Drive Clubs from New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria and hosted by the NSW Club in 2008.

Each year, at Easter. the Jackaroo and Holden 4WD Clubs of New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia hold a combined carnival and campout. In 2008 the New South Wales Club will be hosting the event which will be held at Queanbeyan, near Canberra, the Nation's Capital.

This family friendly event has been held every year since 2000 and has been hosted, in turn, by each of the three clubs. In 2007 it was held at Tolmie in Victoria and was very successfully hosted by the Victorian Club.

Whilst one of the main purposes of this event is to conduct 4WD trips that showcase some of the beautiful, interesting and different parts of each State's respective "backyard" it is by no means the sole reason. Interstate friendships that have been established at previous events are renewed; new friendships established and a good time is guaranteed. The traditional Sunday banquet, the Happy Hours and raffles are also great social events. The kids are not forgotten either. There are usually activities especially for them every day, including an Easter Egg Hunt on the Sunday.

Attendance is restricted to members of each of the respective clubs. If you are not a member of one of these three clubs and would like to attend this event, please contact one of the clubs and find out how easy it is to become a member and participate in, not only this event, but all the other events and outing the club organises. Links to the other clubs websites are shown on our "LINKS & SEARCH" page.

There is lots to see and do in and around this area; to the west of Canberra is the Brindabella Range with its vast expanse of both pine and native forests and the mirriad of tracks that cris-cross the landscape. Mt Stromlo observatory, Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and the Space Tracking Station are also places of interest in this area. A bit further west is the beautiful Wee Jasper Valley with one of its main features being Carey's Cave. A tour through these beautiful caves is a must.

To the east are charming old towns like Captain's Flat and Bungendore. The Tallanganda State Forest and National Park, also in this area, provides the opportunity for some interesting four wheel drive trip with the old Forestery camp and waterwheel at the Lowden Forest Park being well worth a visit.
